Project Sea Life is a non-profit marine life conservation group based in
Manila, Philippines. The coasts along the Philippines were once home to
numerous fish species that offered multiple benefits for both the
environment and the natives who lived there. Today, these same fish
species are threatened with extinction due to the uncontrollable
and unsustainable overfishing practices used. A group of Filipino natives
discovered how important having enough fish in the ocean benefited
our ecosystem. They decide to develop Project Sea Life to advocate and
protest for fishing rights. However, Project Sea Life hosts beach clean-ups
as well as dive clean-ups at coral reefs to help tackle plastic pollution.
The organization also offers sea animal adoption to help endangered
species avoid extinction and trafficking.
